Abstract
Display assemblies with divided interior space and related methods are disclosed. A common passageway for the gas fluidly connects passageways of a first and second electronic display subassembly. A barrier extends within, and partitions, the common passageway into a first portion and a second portion. A continuous airflow pathway for the gas includes the first and second portions of said common passageway and the passageways of the first and second electronic display subassemblies. The first and second portions being fluidly interconnected by the passageways of the first and second electronic display assemblies.
Claims17
A display assembly with divided interior space, said display assembly comprising:
- first and second electronic display subassemblies, each having a rear surface and comprising a passageway for gas;
- a common passageway for the gas fluidly connected with the passageways of said first and second electronic display subassemblies;
- a barrier extending between, and at least in part at a non-zero, non-180 degree angle relative to, the rear surfaces of the first and second electronic display subassemblies to partition the common passageway into a first portion and a second portion such that the first and second portions are instead fluidly interconnected by the passageways of the first and second electronic display assemblies;
- and
- a continuous, non-overlapping airflow pathway for the gas comprising the first and second portions of said common passageway and the passageways of the first and second electronic display subassemblies.
A method for thermally managing a display assembly having a divided interior space, said display assembly comprising:
- activating one or more fans to move gas through a continuous, non-overlapping airflow pathway comprising a passageway of each of a first and second electronic display subassembly and a common passageway fluidly connected with the passageways of the first and second electronic display subassemblies, wherein a barrier extends between, and at least in part at a non-zero, non-180 degree angle relative to, a rear surface of each of the first and second electronic display subassemblies, thereby partitioning the common passageway into a first portion and a second portion such that the first and the second portions are instead fluidly interconnected by way of the passageways of the first and second electronic display subassemblies.
A display assembly with divided interior space, said display assembly comprising:
- electronic display subassemblies, each comprising an airflow passageway for gas;
- a common passageway for the gas located behind rear surfaces of the electronic display subassemblies;
- a continuous airflow pathway comprising the common passageway and the airflow passageways of the electronic display subassemblies;
- and
- a central barrier extending between, and at least in part at a non-zero, non-180 degree angle relative to, the rear surfaces of the electronic display assemblies to partition the common passageway into a first portion and a second portion such that, to complete a circuit of the continuous airflow pathway, gas is forced to travel from the first portion of the common passageway, through a respective one of the airflow passageways, to the second portion, and through the other one of the airflow passageways before returning to the first portion of the common passageway to complete a circuit of the continuous airflow pathway.
