• identifying a mutual information associated with a code block;
• identifying whether the code block is decodable based on the mutual information;
• and
• skipping decoding the code block if the code block is identified as being not decodable.

An apparatus for wireless communication at a receiving device, comprising:

• means for identifying a mutual information associated with a code block;
• means for identifying whether the code block is decodable based on the mutual information;
• and
• means for skipping decoding the code block if the code block is identified as being not decodable.

A non-transitory computer-readable medium storing computer executable code at a receiving device, the code when executed by a processor causes the processor to:

• identify a mutual information associated with a code block;
• identify whether the code block is decodable based on the mutual information;
• and
• skip decoding the code block if the code block is identified as being not decodable.
