Abstract
The present invention relates to an aqueous autodeposition composition comprising iron(II) ions, fluoride ions, at least one chain transfer agent and at least one dispersed organic binder component, wherein the organic binder component comprises at least one water-dispersible polymerizable (meth)acrylic acid component; and at least one acrylated mono- or diphosphate ester component.
Claims14
An aqueous autodeposition composition comprising:
- water;
- fluoride ions;
- iron(III) ions;
- at least one chain transfer agent;
- at least one organic binder component dispersed in the aqueous phase,
- wherein the at least one organic binder component comprises at least one water-dispersible, polymerizable (meth) acrylic acid compound;
- and at least one acrylated phosphate ester compound, or a salt thereof, having the formula (I):
- wherein, in formula (I), R1 represents an optionally substituted vinyl group;
- R2 represents a divalent hydrophobic group;
- and each R3 is independently selected from the group consisting of H and a group having the formula (II);
- wherein at least one R3 is present as the group of formula (II):
- wherein, in formula (II), R1 and R2 are as defined in formula (I), and the composition has an epoxy equivalent weight less than 1.
