Abstract
Provided are imidazolium zwitterion polymerizable compounds and their applications in ophthalmic devices and packaging solutions. The zwitterionic polymerizable compounds are of formula I: wherein R1, R2, R3, L1, L2, and Pg are as described herein.
Claims18
A zwitterionic polymerizable compound of formula I:
- wherein R1, R2, and R3 are independently H, alkyl, cycloalkyl, phenyl or benzyl;
- L1 and L2 are each independently alkylene;
- and
- Pg is a polymerizable group.
An ophthalmic device comprising a polymer derived from a zwitterionic polymerizable compound of formula I:
- wherein R1, R2, and R3 are independently H, alkyl, cycloalkyl, phenyl or benzyl;
- L1 and L2 are each independently a linking group;
- and Pg is a polymerizable group.
A blister package including an ophthalmic device and a packaging solution, wherein the packaging solution comprises a polymer derived from a polymerizable zwitterion compound of formula I:
- wherein R1, R2, and R3 are independently H, alkyl, cycloalkyl, phenyl or benzyl;
- L1 and L2 are each independently a linking group;
- and Pg is a polymerizable group.
