## Abstract

An 4-[4,5-bis(4-bromophenyl)-1-hexyl-1H-imidazol-2-yl]isoquinolin-3-ol compound, its synthesis, and its use as an antimicrobial agent.

## Claims

### Claim 1

A method of treating a microbial infection in a patient comprising administering to a patient in need thereof a therapeutically effective amount of a 4-[4,5-bis(4-bromophenyl)-1-hexyl-1H-imidazol-2-yl]isoquinolin-3-ol compound having the formula I:
wherein the microbial infection is caused by one or more gram positive bacteria, one or more gram negative bacteria, one or more fungi, or a combination thereof; and wherein the one or more gram positive bacteria comprises Staphylococcus aureus; the one or more gram negative bacteria is selected from the group consisting of Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Escherichia coli, and a combination thereof; and the one or more fungus comprises Candida albicans.

### Claim 2 (depends on 1)

The method of treating the microbial infection of claim 1, wherein the microbial infection is caused by Staphylococcus aureus.

### Claim 3 (depends on 1)

The method of treating the microbial infection of claim 1, wherein the microbial infection is caused by one or more gram negative bacteria selected from the group consisting of Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Escherichia coli, and a combination thereof.

### Claim 4 (depends on 1)

The method of treating the microbial infection of claim 1, wherein the microbial infection is caused by Candida albicans.
