Method for estimating status of heated object

A method of controlling a heating apparatus, the method comprising:

• supplying power to a heating member of the heating apparatus to heat an object;
• detecting, via a sound sensor disposed under a top plate of the heating apparatus, a sound signal generated between a pot and the top plate while the pot vibrates as the object to be heated is heated by the heating member;
• detecting, via a weight sensor disposed to contact a bottom surface of the top plate, a weight of the object to be heated that is supported by the top plate;
• obtaining recorded data by recording the temperature of the object and the sound signal generated at the corresponding temperature while changing a type, a weight, and a size of the pot, and a type, the weight, and a size of the object contained in the pot;
• making labeled data by labelling the recorded data as the corresponding temperature;
• learning a deep neural network model to estimate a state of the object to be heated according to input information;
• determining, via an artificial intelligence model having learned properties of the sound signal, whether the object to be heated is boiling;
• and
• adjusting the power supplied to the heating member based on the determination of whether the object to be heated is boiling.
