Abstract
The information processing apparatus communicates with a device via a USB connection in an application on which a function of the device can be executed by using a printer driver and communicates with the device via a network connection in the application. A control unit performs control to communicate with the device in the application by changing communication with the device from communication via the USB connection into communication via the network connection, in a case where the communication with the device via the USB connection cannot be performed in the application and the communication with the device via the network connection can be performed in a predetermined function of an operating system.
Claims14
An information processing apparatus, the apparatus comprising:
- at least one memory and at least one processor which function as:
- a first communication unit configured to communicate with a device via a USB connection in an application on which a function of the device can be executed by using a printer driver;
- a second communication unit configured to communicate with the device via a network connection in the application;
- and
- a control unit configured to perform control to communicate with the device in the application by changing communication with the device from communication via the USB connection into communication via the network connection, in a case where the communication with the device via the USB connection cannot be performed in the application and the communication with the device via the network connection can be performed in a predetermined function of an operating system, OS.
A method executed in an information processing apparatus, the method comprising:
- communicating with a device via a USB connection in an application on which a function of the device can be executed by using a printer driver;
- communicating with the device via a network connection in the application;
- and
- controlling communication with the device in the application by changing communication with the device from communication via the USB connection into communication via the network connection, in a case where the communication with the device via the USB connection cannot be performed in the application and the communication with the device via the network connection can be performed in a predetermined function of an operating system, OS.
A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium storing a program configured to cause a computer to function to:
- communicating with a device via a USB connection in an application on which a function of the device can be executed by using a printer driver;
- communicating with the device via a network connection in the application;
- and
- controlling communication with the device in the application by changing communication with the device from communication via the USB connection into communication via the network connection, in a case where the communication with the device via the USB connection cannot be performed in the application and the communication with the device via the network connection can be performed in a predetermined function of an operating system, OS.
