Drink bottle

A drink bottle comprising:

• a container for containing a liquid and a removable lid, the container having an open end and the removable lid being removably connected to the open end, the removable lid comprising an inner lid and an outer lid, the outer lid being shiftable relative to the inner lid between a closed position and an open position;
• a drinking spout or straw assembly mounted in the removable lid for extraction of liquid from within the container through a resiliently flexible drinking spout or straw of the drinking spout or straw assembly;
• and
• an actuator slidably mounted to the inner lid for sliding movement between a home position and an actuation position, the actuator having a push face accessible from outside the removable lid for receiving finger pressure for displacing the actuator from the home position toward the actuation position,
• the actuator cooperating with the outer lid in the closed position of the outer lid to retain the outer lid in the closed position and movement of the actuator from the home position to the actuation position releasing that cooperation so that the outer lid is released to shift to the open position,
• the actuator having a bearing surface in bearing engagement with the drinking spout or straw assembly such that movement of the actuator from the home position towards the actuation position resiliently deforms the drinking spout or straw assembly and the actuator is biased towards the home position by the resilient deformation, and
• upper and lower ends of the push face slide in a same direction as the bearing surface when the actuator moves between the home position and the actuation position.
