## Abstract

Wireless-enabled loudspeaker includes a capacitive touch user interface. The loudspeaker may comprise at least one electroacoustic transducer, a processor in communication with the at least one electroacoustic transducer, and an exterior surface comprising a capacitive touch user interface that allows a user to control operation of the loudspeaker. The exterior surface acts a dielectric for the capacitive touch user interface. The loudspeaker may comprise a wireless transceiver circuit for receiving and transmitting wireless communication signals via a wireless network. The wireless transceiver circuit may receive wirelessly audio content from streaming audio content servers that are connected to the Internet. The capacitive touch user interface comprises a plurality of capacitive sense electrodes.

## Claims

### Claim 1

A loudspeaker comprising:
an enclosure defined by a base surface, a smooth, topmost surface, and a sidewall extending between the base surface and the smooth topmost surface, wherein:
the enclosure is free-standing when sitting on the base surface; and
the smooth topmost surface of the loudspeaker comprises a dielectric material defining a capacitive touch user interface;
one or more speakers;
a wireless communication circuit inside the enclosure, wherein the wireless communication circuit is for wirelessly receiving an audio stream, wherein the one or more speakers are for playing the audio stream; and
at least one capacitive sense electrode, wherein the at least one capacitive sense electrode forms part of the capacitive touch user interface for the loudspeaker, with the dielectric material of the smooth topmost surface serving as a dielectric layer for the capacitive touch user interface, such that the capacitive touch user interface allows a user of the loudspeaker to control at least one operation of the loudspeaker through touching the smooth topmost surface of the loudspeaker.

### Claim 2 (depends on 1)

The loudspeaker of claim 1, wherein the smooth topmost surface of the enclosure comprises at least one symbol icon aligned with the at least one capacitive sense electrode to indicate to a user of the loudspeaker where to touch the smooth topmost surface of the loudspeaker to control the at least one operation of the loudspeaker.

### Claim 3 (depends on 2)

The loudspeaker of claim 2, wherein a user touching the smooth topmost surface at the at least one symbol icon activates the at least one capacitive sense electrode to control the at least one operation of the loudspeaker.

### Claim 4 (depends on 3)

The loudspeaker of claim 3, wherein a user touching the smooth topmost surface in close proximity to the at least one symbol icon activates the at least one capacitive sense electrode to control the at least one operation of the loudspeaker.

### Claim 5 (depends on 4)

The loudspeaker of claim 4, wherein the at least one symbol icon is associated with:
an LED indicator at the smooth topmost surface; and
