Abstract
In one embodiment, a device may transmit, via a network to an application, a series of sensor measurements captured by the device, each sensor measurement having an associated timestamp based on a clock of the device. The device may receive, from the application, an indication that at least a portion of the series of sensor measurement were not received by the application. The device may determine, for those sensor measurements not received by the application, timestamp differences between their timestamps and a current time of the clock of the apparatus, after receiving the indication. The device may resend the portion of the series of sensor measurements to the application and their timestamp differences.
Claims19
A method comprising:
- transmitting, by a device and via a LoRaWAN network to an application, a series of sensor measurements captured by the device, each sensor measurement having an associated timestamp based on a clock of the device;
- receiving, at the device and from the application, an indication that at least a portion of the series of sensor measurement were not received by the application;
- determining, by the device and for those sensor measurements not received by the application, timestamp differences between timestamps for those sensor measurements not received by the application and a current time of the clock of the device, after receiving the indication;
- and
- resending, by the device, the portion of the series of sensor measurements to the application and the timestamp differences.
An apparatus, comprising:
- one or more network interfaces;
- a processor coupled to the one or more network interfaces and configured to execute one or more processes;
- and
- a memory configured to store a process that is executable by the processor, the process when executed configured to:
- transmit, via a LoRaWAN network to an application, a series of sensor measurements captured by the apparatus, each sensor measurement having an associated timestamp based on a clock of the apparatus;
- receive, from the application, an indication that at least a portion of the series of sensor measurement were not received by the application;
- determine, for those sensor measurements not received by the application, timestamp differences between timestamps for those sensor measurements not received by the application and a current time of the clock of the apparatus, after receiving the indication;
- and
- resend the portion of the series of sensor measurements to the application and their timestamp differences.
A tangible, non-transitory, computer-readable medium storing program instructions that cause a device to execute a process comprising:
- transmitting, by the device and via a LoRaWAN network to an application, a series of sensor measurements captured by the device, each sensor measurement having an associated timestamp based on a clock of the device;
- receiving, at the device and from the application, an indication that at least a portion of the series of sensor measurement were not received by the application;
- determining, by the device and for those sensor measurements not received by the application, timestamp differences between timestamps for those sensor measurements not received by the application and a current time of the clock of the device, after receiving the indication;
- and
- resending, by the device, the portion of the series of sensor measurements to the application and their timestamp differences.
