Abstract
A modular device for generating hydrogen gas from a hydrogen liquid carrier may include a housing; an inlet for receiving the hydrogen liquid carrier; and at least one cartridge arranged within the housing. The cartridge may include at least one catalyst configured to cause a release of hydrogen gas when exposed to the hydrogen liquid carrier. The modular device may include a gas outlet for expelling the hydrogen gas released in the modular device and a liquid outlet for expelling spent hydrogen liquid carrier.
Claims17
A modular device for generating hydrogen gas from a hydrogen liquid carrier, the modular device comprising:
- a housing including a plurality of access ports;
- at least one inlet for receiving the hydrogen liquid carrier;
- a plurality of cartridges arranged within the housing, wherein at least one cartridge of the plurality of cartridges includes a first catalyst configured to cause a release of hydrogen gas when exposed to the hydrogen liquid carrier, wherein each cartridge of the plurality of cartridges is individually removable from the housing through a corresponding one of the plurality of access ports;
- at least one gas outlet for expelling the hydrogen gas released in the modular device;
- and
- at least one liquid outlet for expelling the hydrogen liquid carrier.
A modular device for generating hydrogen gas from a hydrogen liquid carrier, the modular device comprising:
- a housing including a plurality of access ports;
- a plurality of inner cartridges arranged within the housing, wherein at least one inner cartridge of the plurality of inner cartridges includes at least one first catalyst configured to cause a release of hydrogen gas when exposed to the hydrogen liquid carrier;
- a first marginal cartridge disposed within the housing on a first end of the modular device and a second marginal cartridge disposed within the housing on a second end of the modular device, wherein:
- the first marginal cartridge includes at least one second catalyst configured to cause a release of hydrogen gas when exposed to the hydrogen liquid carrier, and
- the second marginal cartridge includes at least one third catalyst configured to cause a release of hydrogen gas when exposed to the hydrogen liquid carrier;
- a cooling system for removing heat generated within the modular device;
- at least one fuel inlet for receiving the hydrogen liquid carrier;
- at least one gas outlet for expelling the hydrogen gas generated in the modular device;
- and
- at least one liquid outlet for expelling the hydrogen liquid carrier,
- wherein each cartridge of the plurality of inner cartridges is individually removable from the housing through a corresponding one of the plurality of access ports.
