Abstract
A computing device with a closable lid and camera on the lid has a reflector arranged to use the camera while the lid of the computing device is closed.
Claims23
A computing device, comprising:
- a base;
- an upper lid movably coupled to the base and having a screen and at least one camera with at least one lens facing the base when the upper lid is in a closed position relative to the base;
- and
- a reflector of the computing device being disposed in a diagonal position relative to a plane of the base to receive light from an exterior of the computing device initially and generally parallel to the plane and to reflect the light from the base generally perpendicular to the plane to direct the light towards the lens while the upper lid is in the closed position.

A reflector of a computing device, the reflector comprising:
- at least one reflective surface disposed at a base of the computing device, wherein the computing device includes an upper lid coupled to the base and having a screen and camera facing the base when the upper lid is in a closed position, and
- wherein the at least one reflective surface is disposed in a diagonal position relative to a plane of the base to receive light from an exterior of the computing device initially and generally parallel to the plane and to reflect the light from the base generally perpendicular to the plane to cause the light to be directed toward the camera while the upper lid is in the closed position.
A camera system comprising:
- a computing device, comprising:
- a base;
- an upper lid coupled to the base and having a screen and at least one camera with at least one lens facing the base when the upper lid is in a closed position relative to the base;
- a reflector of the computing device being disposed in a diagonal position relative to a plane of the base to receive light from an exterior of the computing device initially and generally parallel to the plane and to reflect the light from the base generally perpendicular to the plane to direct the light towards the lens while the upper lid is in the closed position;
- and
- at least one processor communicatively coupled to the at least one camera and arranged to activate the camera to capture images while the upper lid is in the closed position.
