A composition comprising a plurality of nanoparticles,
- wherein each of the nanoparticles comprises a compound of Formula (I):
- Si(OH)n(CO2R)m (I)
- wherein, R is a C8-C30 alkyl functional group;
- n is 0, 1, 2 or 3;
- m is 1, 2, 3, or 4;
- and,
- the sum of n and m is 4.
