Abstract
A method that incorporates aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, obtaining, by a system comprising a processor, interference information associated with one or more physical resource blocks (PRBs) from each base station of a plurality of base stations. Further, the method can include determining, by the system, from the interference information a strategy for improving a PRB utilization of a first base station of the plurality of base stations. In addition, the method can include conveying, by the system, the strategy to at least one base station of the plurality of base stations. Other embodiments are disclosed.
Claims20
A base station, comprising:
- a processing system including a processor;
- and
- a memory that stores executable instructions that, when executed by the processing system, facilitate performance of operations, the operations comprising:
- determining interference information associated with a group of spectral segments utilized by the base station;
- providing the interference information to a network device over a communication network, wherein the network device determines from the interference information that an interference signal is located in a first spectral segment of the group of spectral segments;
- receiving instructions from the network device to mitigate the interference signal;
- and
- adjusting the group of spectral segments according to the instructions to mitigate the interference signal.
A non-transitory machine-readable storage medium, comprising executable instructions that, when executed by a base station including a processor, facilitate performance of operations, the operations comprising:
- obtaining uplink information associated with a group of communication devices in communication with the base station;
- determining interference information associated with a group of spectral segments utilized by the base station based on the uplink information;
- providing the interference information to a network device over a communication network, wherein the network device determines from the interference information that an interference signal is located in a first spectral segment of the group of spectral segments;
- receiving instructions from the network device to mitigate the interference signal;
- and
- mitigating the interference signal according to the instructions.
A method, comprising:
- determining, by a base station comprising a processor, interference information associated with a group of spectral segments utilized by the base station;
- providing, by the base station, the interference information to a network device over a communication network, wherein the network device determines from the interference information that an interference signal is located in a first spectral segment of the group of spectral segments;
- receiving, by the base station, instructions from the network device to mitigate the interference signal;
- and
- filtering, by the base station, the interference signal according to the instructions.
