Abstract
Scintillator compositions comprising lithium, an alkaline earth metal, a halide, and optionally a dopant, and related systems and methods for detecting radiation are disclosed.
Claims11
A scintillator material composition, comprising:
- lithium;
- strontium;
- iodine;
- and
- a dopant,
- wherein the composition comprises the formula LiSr2I5,
- and
- wherein the dopant is present in an amount between about 0.01% to about 20%, by molar weight.

- lithium;
- calcium;
- one or more halides selected from the group consisting of CI, Br, and I;
- and
- a dopant, wherein the composition comprises the formula LiCa2X5,
- wherein X the one or more halides, and wherein the dopant is present in an amount between about 0.01% to about 20%, by molar weight.
