Barrier system to reduce the rates of infections

A method for applying a barrier device to a skin of a user, comprising:

• attaching the barrier device to said skin of said user with an adhesive composition, the adhesive composition bonded to a bladder connected to the barrier device, wherein the bladder is in an unexpanded state when the barrier device is secured to said skin of said user;
• expanding the bladder from the unexpanded state to an expanded state, wherein expanding the bladder weakens a bond between the adhesive composition and the bladder;
• and
• removing the barrier device from said skin of said user.

A wound barrier system, comprising:

• a skin contacting surface;
• and
• an inflatable bladder connected to the skin contacting surface;
• and
• an adhesive composition connected to the bladder, wherein, the adhesive composition is configured to bond to a surface and the inflatable bladder such that, after bonding, the inflatable bladder is more expandable than the adhesive composition such that when the bladder is in an expanded state, a bond between the bladder and the adhesive composition is weakened.
