Re-configurable and re-sizable modular storage container system

A container system, comprising:

• at least first and second modules, wherein each of the first and second modules comprises a plurality of side structural members each of which has a height and a length;
• wherein each of the side structural members of the first module includes a series of mounting holes positioned horizontally on an axis extending along the length;
• wherein each of the side structural members of the second module includes the series of mounting holes positioned horizontally on an axis extending along the length;
• the series of mounting holes including at least a first mounting hole at approximately a center of the side structural member, a second mounting hole placed near a first end of the side structural member, and a third mounting hole placed near a second end of the side structural member opposite the first end;
• a set of hinge arms mountable at adjustable locations via the series of mounting holes in the first and second modules;
• and
• removable hardware configured together with the set of hinge arms to reconfigurably couple the second module to the first module, the second module being movable relative to a first side structural member of the first module via the set of hinge arms from a closed position overlaying the first module to an open position directionally offset from the first side structural member in one of:
• first, second, third and fourth directions, wherein an open position directional offset corresponding to one of the second, third and fourth directions is, respectively, 90, 180 and 270 degrees offset from the first direction.
