## Abstract

An improved medical procedure or catheterization tray included in an improved medical procedure or catheterization package. The improved medical procedure or catheterization tray is intuitively arranged. In one example, a catheterization package and catheterization tray has a layout and/or arrangement of components that may help reduce CAUTI rates by facilitating ease of use and aiding in proper aseptic technique during insertion. The medical procedure or catheterization package and/or medical procedure or catheterization tray may include various implements, compartments, and components necessary and/or helpful to the medical procedure or catheterization.

## Claims

### Claim 1

A catheterization system, comprising:
a catheterization tray having a length greater than a width, the catheterization tray comprising:
a first compartment containing a Foley catheter assembly, the first compartment defined by a first separator wall and a second separator wall opposite the first separator wall, wherein one or both of the first separator wall and the second separator wall are removable from the catheterization tray;
a second compartment separated from the first compartment by the first separator wall;
a third compartment separated from the first compartment by the second separator wall, each of the second compartment and the third compartment containing one or more catheterization components; and
a top compartment positioned over at least a portion of the first compartment, the second compartment, and the third compartment.

### Claim 2 (depends on 1)

The catheterization system according to claim 1, wherein a plurality of swabs are disposed in either the second compartment or the third compartment, each swab of the plurality of swabs including an elongated stem and an absorbent head secured to or integrated with the elongated stem.

### Claim 3 (depends on 2)

The catheterization system according to claim 2, wherein a distal portion of the absorbent head is wider than a proximal portion of the absorbent head, the proximal portion being secured to or integrated with the elongated stem.

### Claim 4 (depends on 2)

The catheterization system according to claim 2, wherein each elongated stem of each swab of the plurality of swabs has an approximately rectangular cross-sectional shape.

### Claim 5 (depends on 1)

The catheterization system according to claim 1, wherein the top compartment contains instructions for a catheterization procedure.

### Claim 6 (depends on 1)

The catheterization system according to claim 1, wherein the top compartment is defined by a bottom wall and opposing side walls.

### Claim 7 (depends on 6)

The catheterization system according to claim 6, wherein at least one of the first separator wall and the second separator wall includes a cutout configured to accommodate the bottom wall and opposing side walls of the top compartment.

### Claim 8 (depends on 1)

The catheterization system according to claim 1, wherein the top compartment is removable from the catheterization tray.

### Claim 9 (depends on 1)

The catheterization system according to claim 1, wherein the Foley catheter assembly is oriented vertically in the catheterization tray relative to a support surface.

### Claim 10 (depends on 1)

The catheterization system according to claim 1, further comprising a sterile wrap removably folded around the catheterization tray, the sterile wrap having a folded configuration and an unfolded configuration, the sterile wrap maintained in the folded configuration by a belly band, wherein the belly band includes orientation instructions.

### Claim 11 (depends on 10)

The catheterization system according to claim 10, wherein the belly band further comprises instructions for use of the catheterization tray.

### Claim 12 (depends on 10)

The catheterization system according to claim 10, further comprising a packaging label disposed on top of the sterile wrap, the packaging label including at least three sides folded into a different plane from a top portion of the packaging label, wherein each of the at least three sides of the packaging label are visible to a user after packaging of the catheterization system.

### Claim 13 (depends on 10)

The catheterization system according to claim 10, wherein a pair of sterile gloves are positioned on top of the catheterization tray and are accessible after removal of the belly band and transitioning the sterile wrap from the folded configuration to the unfolded configuration.

### Claim 14 (depends on 13)

The catheterization system according to claim 13, wherein a packaging label is positioned over the sterile wrap in the folded configuration, the packaging label including information squares on a top surface and at least two side surfaces.

### Claim 15 (depends on 14)

The catheterization system according to claim 14, wherein a sealed bag is positioned around the catheterization tray and the packaging label such that the at least two side surfaces are disposed orthogonal to the top surface of the packaging label, thereby providing visibility of the packaging label in multiple planes.

### Claim 16 (depends on 15)

The catheterization system according to claim 15, further comprising a perineal care packet positioned between the sterile wrap in the folded configuration and the packaging label, wherein the perineal care packet includes one or more items in a sealed baggy.
