Abstract
A reception apparatus comprises circuitry configured to send, based on an activated mode, to an external apparatus information on gamma correction that the reception apparatus is capable of processing to display high dynamic range images on a display panel. The circuitry is further configured to receive a high dynamic range signal comprising image data in high dynamic range from the external apparatus over a transmission path, and receive information in an InfoFrame packet on gamma correction for the image data in high dynamic range. The circuitry is configured to store EDID data that includes at least information on the gamma correction for the image data.

A reception apparatus comprising:
- circuitry configured to:
- send, based on an activated mode, to an external apparatus information on gamma correction that the reception apparatus is capable of processing to display high dynamic range images on a display panel;
- receive a high dynamic range signal comprising image data in high dynamic range from the external apparatus over a transmission path;
- and
- receive information in an InfoFrame packet on gamma correction for the image data in high dynamic range,
- wherein EDID data stored in the reception apparatus includes at least information on the gamma correction for the image data.
