Abstract
To allow more daylighting and protect against direct solar radiation, the system may include a window shading system that impacts an area (or area of interest). The system may adjust different window shades in different ways and for different periods of time to protect against a direct solar radiation onto an area of interest. The system may provide targeted shadows onto the area of interest. The system may also analyze or predict angles of solar rays that comprise the direct solar radiation and determine an impact of the solar rays on the area of interest, wherein the adjusting of window shades is based on the determining.
Claims18
A method, comprising:
- adjusting, by one or more processors and based on internal sensor data associated with daylight on an internal area of interest, a first window shade a first adjustment to create a first shadow configuration on the area of interest, wherein the internal area of interest is within a structure;
- adjusting, by the one or more processors and based on the internal sensor data, a second window shade a second adjustment to create a second shadow configuration on the internal area of interest;
- adjusting, by the one or more processors and based on the internal sensor data, a third window shade a third adjustment to create a third shadow configuration on the internal area of interest;
- and
- creating, by the one or more processors, an overall shadow configuration by the combination of the first shadow configuration, the second shadow configuration and the third shadow configuration on the internal area of interest, wherein the overall shadow configuration protects against direct solar radiation onto the internal area of interest, while allowing daylight into one or more regions within the structure, but outside of the internal area of interest.
A system comprising:
- one or more processors;
- and
- one or more tangible, non-transitory memories configured to communicate with the one or more processors,
- the one or more tangible, non-transitory memories having instructions stored thereon that, in response to execution by the one or more processors, cause the one or more processors to perform operations comprising:
- adjusting, by the one or more processors and based on internal sensor data associated with daylight on an internal area of interest, a first window shade a first adjustment to create a first shadow configuration on the area of interest, wherein the internal area of interest is within a structure;
- adjusting, by the one or more processors and based on the internal sensor data, a second window shade a second adjustment to create a second shadow configuration on the internal area of interest;
- adjusting, by the one or more processors and based on the internal sensor data, a third window shade a third adjustment to create a third shadow configuration on the internal area of interest;
- and
- creating, by the one or more processors, an overall shadow configuration by the combination of the first shadow configuration, the second shadow configuration and the third shadow configuration on the internal area of interest, wherein the overall shadow configuration protects against direct solar radiation onto the internal area of interest, while allowing daylight into one or more regions within the structure, but outside of the internal area of interest.
