Abstract
An injection device is described. The injection device includes a stopper having a first conductive element, a barrel having a medicament reservoir sealed at a proximal end with the stopper, and a plunger rod having a second conductive element. The plunger rod is coupled with the stopper to cause forward axial movement of the stopper to expel a medicament from the medicament reservoir. The first conductive element and the second conductive element complete an electrical circuit when the plunger rod is coupled to the stopper.
Claims30
An injection device comprising:
- a stopper comprising a first conductive element;
- a barrel defining a medicament reservoir sealed at a proximal end with the stopper;
- and
- a plunger rod comprising a second conductive element, the plunger rod being configured to be coupled with the stopper to cause forward axial movement of the stopper to expel a medicament from the medicament reservoir,
- wherein coupling of the plunger rod to the stopper connects the first conductive element and the second conductive element and completes an electrical circuit.
An injection device comprising:
- a stopper comprising a first conductive element;
- a barrel defining a medicament reservoir sealed at a proximal end with the stopper;
- and
- a plunger rod comprising a second conductive element, the plunger rod being configured to be coupled with the stopper to cause forward axial movement of the stopper to expel a medicament from the medicament reservoir,
- wherein the first conductive element and the second conductive element complete an electrical circuit when the plunger rod is coupled to the stopper, and
- wherein the plunger rod is configured to be decoupled from the stopper by applying a rearward axial force to the plunger rod.
An injection device comprising:
- a stopper comprising a first conductive element and a threaded recess;
- a barrel defining a medicament reservoir sealed at a proximal end with the stopper;
- and
- a plunger rod comprising a second conductive element, the plunger rod being configured to be coupled with the stopper to cause forward axial movement of the stopper to expel a medicament from the medicament reservoir,
- wherein the first conductive element and the second conductive element complete an electrical circuit when the plunger rod is coupled to the stopper, and a distal end of the plunger rod is configured to be coupled with the threaded recess.
An injection device comprising:
- a stopper comprising a first conductive element;
- a barrel defining a medicament reservoir sealed at a proximal end with the stopper;
- and
- a plunger rod comprising a second conductive element, the plunger rod being configured to be coupled with the stopper to cause forward axial movement of the stopper to expel a medicament from the medicament reservoir,
- wherein the first conductive element and the second conductive element complete an electrical circuit when the plunger rod is coupled to the stopper, and
- wherein the plunger rod includes a barrel-engaging element extending radially from the plunger rod to engage an internal surface of the barrel.
An injection device comprising:
- a stopper comprising a first conductive element;
- a barrel defining a medicament reservoir sealed at a proximal end with the stopper;
- and
- a plunger rod comprising a second conductive element, the plunger rod being configured to be coupled with the stopper to cause forward axial movement of the stopper to expel a medicament from the medicament reservoir,
- wherein the first conductive element and the second conductive element complete an electrical circuit when the plunger rod is coupled to the stopper, the first conductive element is a magnet, and the second conductive element is a magnet, and a magnetic interface between the first conductive element and the second conductive element completes the electrical circuit.
