Abstract
Provided are compounds of Formula I that are useful as emitters in OLEDs.
Claims20
A compound of Formula I
- wherein:
- M is Zn, Ni, or Cu;
- X1-X16 are each C;
- the maximum number of N atoms that can be bonded to one another is two;
- L1 and L2 are each independently CR′ or N;
- each RA, RB, RC, and RD independently represents zero, mono, or up to the maximum number of allowed substitutions to its associated ring;
- R′ is hydrogen
- each RA, RB, RC, and RD is independently a hydrogen or a substituent selected from the group consisting of deuterium, alkyl, cycloalkyl, arylalkyl, amino, alkenyl, aryl, heteroaryl, nitrile, and combinations thereof;
- and
- two substituents can be joined or fused to form a ring where chemically feasible;
- wherein when M is Zn, at least one of the following is true:
- two RA and/or RB substituents are joined to form a ring and two RC and two RD substituents are excluded from joining to form a ring;
- or
- L1 and L2 are different;
- and
- wherein one of the following is true:
- i) RC and RD are each a 2,6-diisopropylphenyl group, wherein said 2,6-diisopropylphenyl groups are bonded to X11 and X14;
- or
- ii) M is Ni or Cu, the RC and the RD bonding to X9 and X16 are each hydrogen, two RC join together at X11 and X12 to form a substituted isoquinoline group, wherein said substituted isoquinoline group comprises a 2,6-diisopropylphenyl group para to X12, and two RD join together at X13 and X14 to form a substituted isoquinoline group, wherein said substituted isoquinoline group comprises a 2,6-diisopropylphenyl group para to X13.
