Abstract
Lanthionine ketimine phosphonate (LK-P), lanthionine ketimine ester phosphonate (LKE-P), other lanthionine ketimine, lanthionine ketimine phosphonate, and lanthionine ketimine ester derivatives, methods of making and using the same, and methods of treatments are described.

A compound comprising Formula F:
- wherein:
- R1 is H or substituted or unsubstituted alkyl, aryl, alkoxy, ester, alkenylamino, alkynylamino, aryloxy, aralkoxy, acyloxy, alkylamino, arylamino, aralkylamino, or amido;
- R2 is selected from the group consisting of COOH, COOR4, PO(OH)2, PO(OR4)2, POOR4OR5, and POOR4OX, wherein R4 and R5 are each independently alkyl groups, and X is hydrogen, a group I metal, a halide, or substituted or unsubstituted alkyl, alkoxy, ester, alkenylamino, alkynylamino, aryloxy, aralkoxy, acyloxy, alkylamino, arylamino, aralkylamino, or amido;
- R3 is H or a substituted or unsubstituted alkyl, alkoxy, ester, alkenylamino, alkynylamino, aryloxy, aralkoxy, acyloxy, alkylamino, arylamino, aralkylamino, or amido;
- excluding when R1 is H and R2 is COOH, R3 is not ethyl or H;
- and,
- excluding when R1 is H, R2 is COOR where R1 is unsubstituted alkyl (ethyl), and R3 is substituted ethyl,
- and salts, stereoisomers, racemates, hydrates, solvates, polymorphs, and alkene reduction products thereof.
