Filter media insert structures and methods of installation

A trench filtration assembly for installation within a trench, comprising:

• a housing having a top, a bottom, a front end, internal sidewalls, and a rear end, said housing forming a fluid-tight seal with respect to said trench when installed such that fluid passing through said trench filtration assembly is directed through said housing;
• a sleeve attached to, and in fluid communication with, said housing rear end and having a sleeve bottom surface in contact with a top surface of said housing bottom, said sleeve forming a pathway for fluid exiting said housing;
• a removable trench box attachable to said housing such that fluid entering said trench is directed to, and passes through, said trench box;
• a filter media plug for filtering oil and other contaminants from a fluid, said filter media plug installed within said sleeve, such that fluid may only exit said trench through said filter media plug, said filter media plug including ester-based fluid absorption/adsorption filter media;
• a mounting bracket for securing said trench box to said housing front end;
• a removable grate disposed within said trench box for preventing passage of rocks and debris through the housing;
• a trench filtration assembly pre-filter grate above said housing top and including a prefilter material interposing said pre-filter grate and said housing top;
• and
• a gasket disposed between the mounting bracket and trench box for maintaining a fluid-tight seal between said trench box and said housing;
• said trench filtration assembly adapted for installation within a trench such that said trench filtration assembly housing is at least partially within said trench.
