Abstract
Carboxymethylated cellulose nanofibers in which the degree of carboxymethyl substitution is higher than 0.30 and no more than 0.60, the cellulose type I crystallinity is 60% or higher, and the transmittance of light having a wavelength of 660 nm when the carboxymethylated celluose nanofibers are made into an aqueous dispersion having a solids fraction of 1% (w/v) is 60% or higher.
Claims10
A carboxymethylated cellulose nanofiber having a degree of carboxymethyl substitution of more than 0.30 and 0.60 or less, a degree of crystallization of cellulose I type of 60% or more, an average fiber diameter of 3 nm to 500 nm, and an aspect ratio of 500 or less, and wherein when the carboxymethylated cellulose nanofiber is dispersed in water to form a water dispersion having a solid content of 1% (w/v), the water dispersion has a transmittance to light at 660 nm of 70% or more.
