Abstract
The present disclosure relates to a polycarbonate and a preparation method thereof, which has a novel structure with an improvement in weather resistance and refractive index, while having excellent mechanical properties.

A polycarbonate, comprising a repeating unit represented by Chemical Formula 1:
- wherein, in Chemical Formula 1,
- X is C6-60 arylene unsubstituted or substituted with C1-10 alkyl,
- Y is C1-10 alkylene, and
- n is an integer of 2 to 10.
