Abstract
A present disclosure describes about an improved form of purified crystalline sodium nitrite. The said form of sodium nitrite may comprise a purity level between 99% to 99.2%. The form of sodium nitrite may also comprise an amount of sodium nitrate no greater than 0.7%. The present disclosure also relates to a method of obtaining an improved form of purified crystalline sodium nitrite with minimum impurities.
Claims9
A purified crystalline form of sodium nitrite comprising:
- a content of sodium nitrite between 99% to 99.2%;
- an amount of sodium nitrate is no greater than 0.7% by weight, wherein a water content is no greater than about 0.5% by weight, wherein a heavy metal content is no greater than about 15 ppm, wherein a chloride content is no greater than about 0.05%, wherein a sulfate content is no greater than about 0.05%, wherein an iron content is no greater than about 0.002%, wherein a content of lead is no greater than 0.0001 ppm, wherein a content of Arsenic is no greater than 0.9 ppm, wherein a content of potassium is no greater than about 500 ppm, wherein a content of mercury is no greater than 0.0001 ppm, and wherein an amount of an anti-caking agent is no less than 0.05% and no greater than 0.1%.
