Abstract
A device is provided that assists with equalizing air pressure within a container with the atmospheric air pressure as liquid is being poured from the container and includes one or more relatively short air tubes. The device is provided with the ability to simultaneously equalize pressure in the container while also providing a drip collection mechanism. The device may be configured for unidirectional pouring or multi-directional pouring.
Claims18
A breathable container, comprising:
- a container body configured to retain a fluid therein, the container body including a body top face with at least one patch of material provided thereon;
- a depressible tab comprising a main fluid channel comprising a first tube, a pressing portion, and an air inlet comprising a second tube, wherein the first tube and second tube are separated by the pressing portion and wherein the depressible tab is positioned in proximity with the at least one patch of material, wherein the main fluid channel and the air inlet are at least partially surrounded by a rim, wherein the main fluid channel and air inlet are configured to puncture at least one hole into the at least one patch when the depressible tab is pressed into the body top face, and wherein the depressible tab is pressed below a top of the rim to cause the main fluid channel and the air inlet to puncture the at one hole into the at least one patch while the pressing portion rests atop the body top face;
- and
- a lid that interfaces with the rim and closes over the depressible tab when the depressible tab is pressed below the top of the rim.

A depressible tab for use with a breathable container, the depressible tab comprising:
- a protective rim;
- a main fluid channel at least partially surrounded by the protective rim, wherein the main fluid channel comprises a first tube;
- an air inlet at least partially surrounded by the protective rim, wherein the air inlet comprises a second tube separated from the first tube by a planar pressing portion, wherein the main fluid channel and air inlet are configured to puncture at least one hole into at least one patch provided on a breathable container when pressed into the breathable container, and wherein the main fluid channel and the air inlet move relative to the protective rim to puncture the at least one hole into the at least one patch;
- and
- a lid that interfaces with the protective rim and that closes over the protective rim.
