Configuring output controls on a per-online identity and/or a per-online resource basis

A system comprising:

• a memory device that stores instructions;
• and
• one or more processors that execute the instructions to perform a series of steps, including:
• receiving, at a client device, audio control information for at least one of a user identity and an online resource;
• receiving, at the client device, an indication that the user interacted with a first user identity via a first electronic communication between the user and the first user identity;
• and
• based on the audio control information, modifying one or more audio parameters of the first electronic communication between the user and the first user identity, wherein the one or more audio parameters include a first mute setting for a first sound type and a first predetermined amount of time, and a second mute setting for a second sound type and a second predetermined amount of time.

A non-transitory computer readable medium storing instructions that, when executed by at least one processor, cause the at least one processor to perform operations comprising:

• receiving, at a client device, audio control information for at least one of a user identity and an online resource;
• receiving, at the client device, an indication that the user interacted with a first user identity via a first electronic communication between the user and the first user identity;
• and
• based on the audio control information, modifying one or more audio parameters of the first electronic communication between the user and the first user identity, wherein the one or more audio parameters include a first mute setting for a first sound type and a first predetermined amount of time, and a second mute setting for a second sound type and a second predetermined amount of time.
