Abstract
A system that incorporates teachings of the present disclosure may include, for example, a method for detecting that a gaming system has presented a first of a plurality of gaming venue states of a game, presenting a first of a plurality of screen shots at a display responsive to detecting the first gaming venue state, detecting that the gaming system has transitioned to a presentation of a second of the plurality of venue states, and presenting a second of the plurality of screen shots at the display responsive to detecting the second gaming venue state. Additional embodiments are disclosed.
Claims20
A device, comprising:
- a memory to store instructions;
- and
- a processing system including a processor, the processing system being coupled to the memory, wherein the processing system, responsive to executing the instructions, performs operations comprising:
- initiating control of a video game application with a touch screen accessory according to a first programmable layer and according to a first gaming venue state, the first gaming venue state being determined based on a performance of image processing on a first screen shot of a video presentation generated by the video game application;
- and
- adjusting the control of the video game application with the touch screen accessory according to a second programmable layer in response to receiving a user-generated input and according to a second gaming venue state that is different from the first gaming venue state, the second gaming venue state being determined based on a performance of image processing on a second screen shot of the video presentation.
A non-transitory, machine-readable computer medium, comprising executable instructions, which responsive to being executed by a processing system including a processor, cause the processing system to perform operations comprising:
- detecting a touch screen accessory associated with a video game application;
- initiating control of the video game application with the touch screen accessory according to a first programmable layer and according to a first gaming venue state, the first gaming venue state being determined based on a performance of image processing on a first screen shot of a video presentation generated by the video game application;
- and
- adjusting the control of the video game application with the touch screen accessory according to a second programmable layer and according to a second gaming venue state that is different from the first gaming venue state, the second gaming venue state being determined based on a performance of image processing on a second screen shot of the video presentation.
A method, comprising:
- detecting, by a processing system including a processor, a touch screen accessory associated with a video game application;
- determining, by the processing system, a user profile associated with the touch screen accessory;
- specifying, by the processing system, a first layout to a first programmable layer in response to receiving a first user-generated input;
- obtaining, by the processing system, statistics associated with the video game application;
- identifying, by the processing system, a second layout according to the statistics;
- specifying, by the processing system, the second layout to a second programmable layer in response to receiving a second user-generated input;
- initiating, by the processing system, control of the video game application with the touch screen accessory according to the first programmable layer and according to a first gaming venue state, the first gaming venue state being determined based on a performance of image processing on a first screen shot of a video presentation generated by the video game application;
- and
- adjusting, by the processing system, the control of the video game application with the touch screen accessory according to the second programmable layer in response to receiving a third user-generated input and according to a second gaming venue state that is different from the first gaming venue state, the second gaming venue state being determined based on a performance of image processing on a second screen shot of the video presentation, wherein the third user-generated input indicates a first trigger to switch from the first programmable layer to the second programmable layer.
