Cyclic deoxyribonucleotide compounds

A compound of Formula I, Ia, or II:

• or a stereoisomer or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof,
• wherein:
• R1 is selected from the group consisting of H, halo, C1-C10 alkyl, —O—C1-6 alkyl, —O-carboxy, —OCH2OR9, —CH(OR9)2, —C-carboxy, —C-amido, —CH2OCH2OR9,
• and —CH2O-carboxy;
• each R2 is independently H, halo, or a C1-C10 alkyl;
• R3 is selected from the group consisting of —O-carboxy, —OCH2OR9, —CH(OR9)2, —C-carboxy, —C-amido, —CH2OCH2OR9,
• —CH2O-carboxy, C1-C10 alkyl, and C3-C10 cycloalkyl;
• R4 is an optionally substituted C1-C10 alkyl;
• each R5 and R6 are independently H or a C1-C10 alkyl;
• or alternatively, an R5 and R6 attached to the same carbon atom may be taken together with the atom to which they are attached form a C3-C10 cycloalkyl;
• each R7 and R8 are independently H or a C1-C10 alkyl;
• or alternatively, an R7 and R8 attached to the same carbon atom may be taken together with the atom to which they are attached form a C3-C10 cycloalkyl;
• and
• R9 is an optionally substituted C1-C10 alkyl;
• provided that the compound is not selected from:
