Abstract
Disclosed herein is an adjustable shoring beam having a hook assembly configured to mate with E-track mating features. The adjustable shoring beam can be adjusted over a predetermined length range by adjusting the tube assembly and the rod assembly. In some embodiments, the extension length is fixed using a fixing clamp coupled to the tube assembly and the rod assembly. A connecting clamp and bracket may be used to couple a first adjustable shoring beam to a second adjustable shoring beam.
Claims24
A connection assembly for coupling a first adjustable shoring beam to a second adjustable shoring beam, the connection assembly comprising:
- a connecting clamp comprising opposing first and second clamp members defining a first cylindrical aperture therebetween for receiving the first adjustable shoring beam, the first clamp member pivotably attached to the second clamp member to rotate between an open position and a closed position,
- wherein the connecting clamp comprises a handle for transitioning the connecting clamp between the open position and the closed position;
- a bracket comprising:
- a bracket body having a first end plate and a second end plate;
- wherein the first end plate has a first circular opening;
- wherein the second end plate has a second circular opening,
- wherein the first end plate is parallel to the second end plate,
- wherein the first circular opening and the second circular opening form a second cylindrical aperture for receiving the first adjustable shoring beam;
- and
- a receiving structure coupled to the bracket body coupling the first end plate to the second end plate,
- wherein the receiving structure orthogonally extends between the first end plate and the second end plate;
- wherein the bracket and the connecting clamp forming the connection assembly are both configured to be concurrently slidable along a length of the first adjustable shoring beam when the connecting clamp is in the open position, and
- wherein the connecting clamp is configured to be fully nested between the first end plate and the second end plate when the connecting clamp is in the closed position.
A connection assembly comprising:
- a bracket comprising:
- a first end plate having a first circular opening;
- a second end plate having a second circular opening,
- wherein the first end plate is parallel to the second end plate;
- a plurality of connecting beams coupling the first end plate to the second end plate,
- wherein the plurality of connecting beams are orthogonal to the first end plate and the second end plate;
- and
- a receiving structure coupled to at least one connecting beam of the plurality of connecting beams;
- and
- a connecting clamp comprising opposing first and second clamp members defining a cylindrical aperture therebetween, the first clamp member pivotably attached to the second clamp member to rotate between an open position and a closed position,
- wherein the connecting clamp comprises a handle for transitioning the connecting clamp between the open position and the closed position,
- wherein the connecting clamp is configured to be fully nested between the first end plate and the second end plate when the connecting clamp is in the closed position, and
- wherein the bracket and the connecting clamp forming the connecting assembly are both configured to be concurrently slidable along a length of an adjustable shoring beam when the connecting clamp is in an open position.
A connection assembly for coupling a first adjustable shoring beam to a second adjustable shoring beam, the connection assembly comprising:
- a connecting clamp, the connecting clamp comprising:
- a first arcuate member and a second arcuate member being joined at a hinge;
- a cylindrical aperture being defined by the first arcuate member and the second arcuate member,
- wherein the cylindrical aperture is configured to receive the first adjustable shoring beam, the cylindrical aperture extending longitudinally within the connecting clamp, the connecting clamp being movable between an open position and a closed position;
- a bracket, the bracket comprising:
- a first end plate arranged opposing a second end plate, the first end plate having a first opening, the second end plate having a second opening, the first and second openings being aligned to define a longitudinal axis of the bracket, the first and second openings being configured to receive the first adjustable shoring beam;
- a plurality of elongate connecting beams extending parallel to the longitudinal axis of the bracket and joining together outer edges of the first and second end plates;
- a connecting strip extending radially outward from and being coupled to one of the elongate beams of the plurality of elongate connecting beams, the connecting strip extending parallel to the longitudinal axis of the bracket, wherein a receiving slot is defined between the connecting strip and the one elongate beam, wherein the receiving slot is configured to receive and retain a mating hook from the second adjustable shoring beam;
- wherein when the connecting clamp is configured to be positioned between the first and second end plates of the bracket when receiving the first adjustable shoring beam within the cylindrical aperture, such that the cylindrical aperture is aligned with the longitudinal axis of the bracket;
- wherein when the connection assembly is in position on the first adjustable shoring beam and the connecting clamp is in the open position, the bracket and the connecting clamp forming the connection assembly are both concurrently slidable along a length of the first adjustable shoring beam;
- and
- wherein when the connection assembly is in position on the first adjustable shoring beam and the connecting clamp is in the closed position, the cylindrical aperture is aligned with the longitudinal axis of the bracket and the connecting clamp is configured to be fully circumscribed by the bracket, such that lateral movement of the connection assembly is suppressed along the first adjustable shoring beam and the bracket freely rotates about an exterior surface of the connecting clamp.
