Abstract
In variants, a method for automated experimentation can include: determining experimental constraints, constructing a computational representation of the experiment, optimizing the computational representation subject to the experimental constraints, determining instructions for a laboratory robot based on the optimized computational representation, and/or any other suitable steps.
Claims20
A system, comprising:
- a processor configured to:
- determine an initial graphical computational representation of an experiment;
- optimize the initial graphical computational representation to determine an optimized graphical computational representation comprising a set of nodes connected by a set of edges, wherein the set of nodes includes a set of parent nodes corresponding to a set of samples at an initial stage of the experiment and a set of leaf nodes corresponding to a set of samples at a final stage of the experiment, wherein each edge is associated with a specification value for an experiment operation, wherein optimizing the initial graphical computational representation comprises minimizing an aggregate specification value;
- determine a parameter for the experiment based on the optimized graphical computational representation;
- determine instructions based on the optimized graphical computational representation;
- and
- control a liquid-handling robot system to execute the experiment based on the instructions;
- and
- a user interface configured to display the parameter for the experiment.
