Abstract
A roller crusher having two generally parallel rollers arranged to rotate in opposite directions, towards each other, and separated by a gap, where each roller has two ends. The roller crusher includes a flange attached to at least one of the ends of one of the rollers, where the flange extends in a radial direction of the roller and has a height above an outer surface of the roller. The roller crusher further includes at least two scrapers arranged consecutive to each other at an end of the roller with a flange for at least partially removing material accumulated on the flange and/or on the outer surface at the end of the roller. A method for operating a roller crusher is also provided.

A roller crusher having two parallel rollers arranged to rotate in opposite directions, towards each other, and separated by a gap, to crush material during a crushing operation, each roller having two ends, the roller crusher comprising:
- a flange attached to at least one of the ends of one of the rollers, the flange extending in a radial direction of the roller, the flange having a height (H) above an outer surface of the roller, wherein the roller crusher further comprises at least two scrapers arranged consecutive to each other at an end of the roller with the flange for at least partially removing the material accumulated on the flange and/or on the outer surface at the end of the roller, wherein each of said at least two scrapers are spaced from the outer surface of the roller and are each structured and arranged to contribute to an overall material removal such that the at least two scrapers, during an entire time of the crushing operation, together and simultaneously with each other removes the material accumulated on the flange and/or on the outer surface at the end of the roller, thereby extending an overall operating time of the roller crusher before replacement of the combination of the at least two scrapers due to wear.
A method for operating a roller crusher for grinding granular material, wherein the roller crusher has two parallel rollers arranged to rotate in opposite directions, towards each other, and separated by a gap, to crush material during a crushing operation, each roller having two ends, the roller crusher comprising:
- a flange attached to at least one of the ends of one of the rollers, the flange extending in a radial direction of the roller, the flange having a height (H) above an outer surface of the roller, wherein the roller crusher further comprises at least two scrapers arranged consecutive to each other at an end of the roller with the flange, wherein each of said at least two scrapers is structured and arranged to contribute to an overall material removal, thereby extending an overall operating time of the roller crusher before replacement of the combination of the at least two scrapers due to wear, wherein the method comprises at least the steps of:
- positioning the at least two scrapers at a distance from the outer surface of the rollers such that the at least two scrapers each at least partially remove the material accumulated on the flange and/or on the outer surface at the end of the roller, wherein the at least two scrapers are positioned such that the at least two scrapers, during an entire time of the crushing operation, together and simultaneously with each other remove the material accumulated on the flange and/or the outer surface at the end of the roller.
A method for operating a roller crusher for grinding granular material, wherein the roller crusher has two parallel rollers arranged to rotate in opposite directions, towards each other, and separated by a gap, each roller having two ends, the roller crusher comprising:
- a flange attached to at least one of the ends of one of the rollers,
- the flange extending in a radial direction of the roller,
- the flange having a height (H) above an outer surface of the roller, wherein the roller crusher further comprises at least two scrapers arranged consecutive to each other at an end of the roller with the flange, wherein each of said at least two scrapers is structured and arranged to contribute to an overall material removal, thereby extending an overall operating time of the roller crusher before replacement of the combination of the at least two scrapers due to wear, wherein the method comprises at least the steps of:
- positioning the at least two scrapers at a distance from the outer surface of the rollers such that the at least two scrapers each at least partially remove material accumulated on the flange and/or on the outer surface at the end of the roller, wherein the at least two scrapers are positioned such that the at least two scrapers, during parts of or during the entire time of crushing operation, together and simultaneously with each other remove material accumulated on the flange and/or the outer surface at the end of the roller.
