Abstract
A data equalization system includes a data clock input configured to receive a clock signal. There is an input node operative to receive a data signal of transmission symbols that change state synchronously with the clock signal. There is a first tap coupled to the input node. A second tap is configured to receive a variation of the data signal. At least one of a weight of the first tap or a weight of the second tap is modulated by a dynamic control parameter that repeats synchronously with each transmission symbol.
Claims25
A data equalization system, comprising:
- a data clock input configured to receive a clock signal;
- an input node operative to receive a data signal of transmission symbols that change state synchronously with the clock signal;
- a first tap coupled to the input node;
- and
- a second tap configured to receive a variation of the data signal,
- wherein at least one of a weight of the first tap or a weight of the second tap is modulated by a dynamic control parameter during the transmission symbol that repeats synchronously with each transmission symbol.
A method of equalization, the method comprising:
- providing an equalization system having a first tap and a second tap;
- receiving a data clock;
- receiving a data input of transmission symbols that change state synchronously with the data clock;
- modulating a tap weight of at least one of the first tap or the second tap with a dynamic control parameter during the transmission symbol that repeats synchronously with each transmission symbol of the data clock;
- summing a weight of all taps in the equalization system;
- and
- providing an output data based on the summed weight of all taps in the system.
A computing device comprising:
- a processor;
- a network interface coupled to the processor to enable communication over a network;
- an equalization engine coupled to the processor and configured to perform acts comprising:
- receiving a data clock;
- receiving a data input of transmission symbols that change state synchronously with the data clock;
- modulating a tap weight of at least one of the first tap or the second tap by a dynamic control parameter during the transmission symbol that repeats synchronously with each transmission symbol of the data clock;
- summing a weight of all taps in the system;
- and
- providing an output data based on the summed weight of all taps in the system.
A non-transitory computer readable storage medium tangibly embodying a computer readable program code having computer readable instructions that, when executed, causes a computer device to carry out a method of equalizing a signal, the method comprising:
- receiving a data clock;
- receiving a data input of transmission symbols that change state synchronously with the data clock;
- modulating a tap weight of at least one of the first tap or the second tap by a dynamic control parameter during the transmission symbol that repeats synchronously with each transmission symbol of the data clock;
- summing a weight of all taps in the system;
- and
- providing an output data based on the summed weight of all taps in the system.
