Abstract
Envelope tracking power supply circuitry includes a look up table (LUT) configured to provide a target supply voltage based on a power envelope measurement. The target supply voltage is dynamically adjusted based on a delay between the power envelope of an RF signal and a provided envelope tracking supply voltage. The envelope tracking supply voltage is generated from the adjusted target supply voltage in order to synchronize the envelope tracking supply voltage with the power envelope of the RF signal.
Claims20
An envelope tracking power supply circuitry comprising:
- envelope detector circuitry configured to measure a power envelope of a radio frequency (RF) signal;
- a look-up-table (LUT) configured to provide a target supply voltage based on a power envelope measurement from the envelope detector circuitry;
- envelope synchronization circuitry configured to adjust the target supply voltage based on a delay measurement to provide an adjusted target supply voltage that is synchronized in time with the power envelope of the RE signal;
- envelope tracking modulator circuitry configured to provide an envelope tracking supply voltage based on the adjusted target supply voltage;
- communication circuitry;
- processing circuitry;
- and
- a memory storing instructions, which, when executed by the processing circuitry cause the envelope tracking power supply circuitry to:
- receive network information via the communication circuitry;
- adjust the LUT based on the network information.

A radio frequency (RF) system comprising:
- an RF signal path comprising one or more RF path components configured to amplify an RF input signal to provide an RF output signal;
- transceiver circuitry comprising:
- modulator circuitry configured to receive a baseband input signal and modulate the baseband input signal to provide the RF input signal;
- first communication circuitry coupled to each one of the RF path components via a first communication bus;
- processing circuitry;
- and
- a memory storing instructions, which, when executed by the processing circuitry cause the transceiver circuitry to receive information related to a network to which the RF system is connected and adjust one or more operating parameters of the one or more RF path components based on the network information via the first communication bus;
- and
- intelligent bridge circuitry comprising:
- second communication circuitry coupled to each one of the RF path components via a second communication bus;
- processing circuitry;
- and
- a memory storing instructions, which, when executed by the processing circuitry cause the transceiver circuitry to adjust one or more operating parameters of the one or more RF path components based on information that is not related to the network.
