Abstract
A packaging material is provided, comprising a core layer and one or more layers of a heat sealable material laminated thereto, and at least one carbon-based layer being configured to form a workpiece of an associated sealing system.
Claims19
A packaging material that does not include aluminum and that comprises a core layer and at least one layer of a heat sealable material laminated thereto, and at least one carbon-based layer or portion adjacent the layer of heat sealable material and configured to form a workpiece of an associated sealing system, which workpiece generates heat by interaction with an electromagnetic field such that the heat at least partly melts at least a portion of the adjacent layer of heat sealable material so that the packaging material is formable into a filled and sealed packaging container, the at least one carbon-based layer or portion being a graphene-based material comprising one or more materials selected from the group consisting of exfoliated flakes of graphene, reduced graphene oxide, graphene monolayer material and multilayer graphene platelets, having up to 20 stacked monolayer flakes of graphene.
