Abstract
Improved equipment bases and methods for making and using same are disclosed herein. The equipment base can include a first coated substrate including a first part having a first thickness sized to provide the load-bearing support for the equipment, a first elastomer coating the first part, a second coated substrate positioned adjacent to the first coated substrate, the second coated substrate including a second part having a second thickness sized to provide the load-bearing support for the equipment, and a second elastomer coating the second part. A first seam can be formed between the first and second coated substrates to allow for moisture to pass between the first and second coated substrates so that moisture is allowed to seep away from the bottom of the equipment.
Claims29
A method of reducing a vibrational force of equipment, the method comprising:
- assembling a base by introducing a first coated substrate with a second coated substrate to form the base, wherein the base comprises:
- a first coated substrate having a first planar portion of a first substrate coated with a first elastomer;
- a second coated substrate having a second planar portion of a second substrate coated with a second elastomer;
- wherein the base comprises a seam to allow moisture to pass through;
- adjoining the first coated substrate with the second coated substrate via one or more components selected from the group consisting of a key member, an adhesive, a fastener, a nail, a screw, a bolt, a sealant, or a combination thereof:
- disposing an equipment unit onto the base;
- and
- applying a vibrational force to the base via operation of the equipment unit.
A method of reducing a vibrational force of equipment, the method comprising:
- providing one or more base segments to an equipment location;
- assembling the one or more base segments onto a ground surface to provide an assembly:
- adjoining the one or more segments of the assembly to provide a base, wherein adjoining comprises connecting the one or more segments via one or more components selected from the group consisting of a key member, an adhesive, a fastener, a nail, a screw, a bolt, a sealant, or a combination thereof;
- disposing an equipment unit onto the base, wherein at least one segment of the one or more segments comprises a first coated substrate, wherein the first coated substrate comprises:
- a first planar portion of a first substrate comprising polystyrene coated with a first elastomer comprising polyurea to form a thickness of 50 mils to 80 mils;
- a second planar portion of the first substrate comprising polystyrene coated with the first elastomer comprising polyurea to form a thickness of 50 mils to 80 mils;
- a third planar portion of the first substrate comprising polystyrene coated with the first elastomer comprising polyurea to form a thickness of 50 mils to 80 mils;
- a fourth planar portion of the first substrate comprising polystyrene coated with the first elastomer comprising polyurea to form a thickness of 50 mils to 80 mils;
- and
- a fifth planar portion of the first substrate comprising polystyrene coated with the first elastomer comprising polyurea to form a thickness of 50 mils to 80 mils.
