Abstract
A reader apparatus detects a communication object by radiating radio waves and receiving a response, determines a change in a state based on at least one of a position and an inclination of the reader apparatus, and controls power consumed in the reader apparatus by setting a length of a first period, in which a reduction of power consumed in the detection is not performed, and a length of a second period, in which a reduction of the power is performed, based on the change in the state.
Claims14
A reader apparatus comprising:
- one or more processors;
- and
- one or more memories that store computer-readable instructions, which cause, when executed by the one or more processors, the reader apparatus to:
- perform detection of a communication object by radiating radio waves and receiving a response;
- determine a change in a state based on at least one of a position and an inclination of the reader apparatus;
- and
- control power consumed in the reader apparatus by setting a length of a first period in which a reduction of power consumed in the detection is not performed, and a length of a second period in which a reduction of the power is performed, based on the change in the state,
- wherein, in a case where an amount of the change in the state is a first amount or a second amount which is larger than the first amount, the first period and the second period are controlled to be alternately arranged such that the second period is started after an end of the first period, and the first period is started again after an end of the second period, and
- wherein the reader apparatus sets the length of the second period to be longer than the length of the first period in the case where the amount of the change in the state is the first amount, and sets the length of the second period to be shorter than the length of the first period in the case where the amount of the change in the state is the second amount.
A control method executed by a reader apparatus operable to perform detection of a communication object by radiating radio waves and receiving a response, the method comprising:
- determining a change in a state based on at least one of a position and an inclination of the reader apparatus;
- and
- controlling power consumed in the reader apparatus by setting a length of a first period in which a reduction of power consumed in the detection of the communication object is not performed, and a length of a second period in which a reduction of the power is performed, based on the change in the state,
- wherein, in a case where an amount of the change in the state is a first amount or a second amount which is larger than the first amount, the first period and the second period are controlled to be alternately arranged such that the second period is started after an end of the first period, and the first period is started again after an end of the second period, and
- wherein the reader apparatus sets the length of the second period to be longer than the length of the first period in the case where the amount of the change in the state is the first amount, and sets the length of the second period to be shorter than the length of the first period in the case where the amount of the change in the state is the second amount.
A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium that stores a computer program for causing a computer included in a reader apparatus to:
- perform detection of a communication object by radiating radio waves and receiving a response;
- determine a change in a state based on at least one of a position and an inclination of the reader apparatus;
- and
- control power consumed in the reader apparatus by setting a length of a first period in which a reduction of power consumed in the detection is not performed, and a length of a second period in which a reduction of the power is performed, based on the change in the state,
- wherein, in a case where an amount of the change in the state is a first amount or a second amount which is larger than the first amount, the first period and the second period are controlled to be alternately arranged such that the second period is started after an end of the first period, and the first period is started again after an end of the second period, and
- wherein the reader apparatus sets the length of the second period to be longer than the length of the first period in the case where the amount of the change in the state is the first amount, and sets the length of the second period to be shorter than the length of the first period in the case where the amount of the change in the state is the second amount.
