Image processing apparatus, control method thereof, image reading apparatus, and storage medium that shift inclined panels based on pixel inclination information and differentiating edge pixels from other parts of a scanned line

A method of controlling an image processing apparatus that includes a storage device configured to store image data read by scanning, with a linear sensor including pixels arranged in a main-scanning direction, an original in a sub-scanning direction orthogonal to the main-scanning direction, the method comprising:

• acquiring inclination information indicating inclination of the image data;
• and
• reading out, with a readout unit, the image data from the storage device, shifting, in accordance with the inclination information, a line position in the sub-scanning direction by each predetermined number of pixels read out in the main-scanning direction, wherein the reading out makes, based on the inclination information, the predetermined number at an edge in the main-scanning direction different from the predetermined number at other parts in the main-scanning direction, wherein, by reading out a unit readout amount that is a number of pixels based on a burst length, in a one-time readout in the main-scanning direction of the image data, the readout unit reads out image data of one line in the main-scanning direction in a plurality of times of readout and, when the predetermined number of pixels is not divisible by the unit readout amount, the image data read first after shifting the line position and the image data read last before shifting the line position are at the same position in the main scanning direction.

A non-transitory computer readable storage medium storing a program for causing a computer to execute each step of a method of controlling an image processing apparatus that includes a storage device configured to store image data read by scanning, with a linear sensor including pixels arranged in a main-scanning direction, an original in a sub-scanning direction orthogonal to the main-scanning direction, the method comprising:

• acquiring inclination information indicating inclination of the image data;
• and
• reading out, with a readout unit, the image data from the storage device, shifting, in accordance with the inclination information, a line position in the sub-scanning direction by each predetermined number of pixels read out in the main-scanning direction, wherein the reading out makes, based on the inclination information, the predetermined number at an edge in the main-scanning direction different from the predetermined number at other parts in the main-scanning direction,
• wherein, by reading out a unit readout amount that is a number of pixels based on a burst length, in a one-time readout in the main-scanning direction of the image data, the readout unit reads out image data of one line in the main-scanning direction in a plurality of times of readout and, when the predetermined number of pixels is not divisible by the unit readout amount, the image data read first after shifting the line position and the image data read last before shifting the line position are at the same position in the main scanning direction.
