Abstract
A system and method for forming 3D printed structures includes one or more anchor portions on a base component. Additional materials can be printed on or adjacent to the anchor portions to provide additional structural components bonded to the anchor portions. These structures can be printed on, and can be a part of, a base component of an article of apparel.
Claims6
An article of apparel comprising:
- a base component of the article of apparel having a first side,
- a first printed component on the first side of the base component, the first printed component having a lower portion and an upper portion, the upper portion having an outwardly extending anchoring portion that has an upper surface and a lower surface;
- and
- a second printed component received on the first printed component, the second printed component having a first portion in contact with the upper surface of the extending anchoring portion and a second portion in contact with the lower surface of the extending anchoring portion.
