Abstract
An aerosol-generation system for a smoking article comprises an aerosol-generating segment and a heat generation segment. The heat generation segment has a length and includes a heat source. The aerosol-generation system for a smoking article also comprises an insulator having at least a portion extending beyond the second end of the heat source, such that the portion is axially arranged in a lengthwise direction proximate to the aerosol-generating segment. Each segment is physically separate and in a heat exchange relationship. The heat source comprises a carbonaceous material.
Claims9
An aerosol-generation system for a smoking article, comprising:
- an aerosol-generating segment;
- a heat generation segment having a length and being axially arranged in a lengthwise direction proximate to the aerosol-generating segment, the heat generation segment including a heat source defining a first end and an opposing second end, the second end of the heat source being arranged spaced apart from but adjacent to the aerosol-generating segment;
- and
- an insulator having at least a portion extending beyond the second end of the heat source, such that the portion is axially arranged in the lengthwise direction proximate to the aerosol-generating segment, each segment being physically separate and in a heat exchange relationship,
- wherein the heat source comprises a carbonaceous material.
An aerosol-generation system for a smoking article, comprising:
- an aerosol-generating segment;
- a heat generation segment having a length and being axially arranged in a lengthwise direction proximate to the aerosol-generating segment, the heat generation segment including a heat source;
- and
- a heat conductive material axially arranged in the lengthwise direction and having at least a portion disposed between the aerosol-generating segment and the heat source of the heat generation segment, each segment being physically separate and in a heat exchange relationship,
- wherein the heat source comprises a carbonaceous material.
