Cooling system and method

A system comprising:

• a conveyance device comprising a conveyor belt configured to carry an aggregate stream;
• a liquid nitrogen dispenser disposed above the conveyance device, the liquid nitrogen dispenser comprising a chamber defined at least in part by a first baffle, the first baffle at least partially defining a slotted output port with an edge of pre-determined length to facilitate an output flow of liquid nitrogen, the slotted output port configured to permit the liquid nitrogen to spill over the edge when a level of liquid nitrogen in the chamber exceeds a height of the first baffle;
• and
• a liquid nitrogen controller in communication with a control valve, the liquid nitrogen controller comprising memory storing computer-readable instructions that, when executed by the liquid nitrogen controller, transmits a control signal to the control valve to open the control valve and dispense the liquid nitrogen to the liquid nitrogen dispenser;
• wherein the liquid nitrogen dispenser is configured to generate an output flow of liquid nitrogen that flows downward from the output port of the liquid nitrogen dispenser onto the aggregate stream carried by the conveyor belt.
