Abstract
A microscope slide holder comprising a slide support member and at least one acoustic source for introducing acoustic waves to a microscope slide in communication with the slide support member such that one or more fluids present on the surface of the microscope slide are contactlessly mixed.
Claims19
A slide holder for contactlessly mixing fluid on a specimen-bearing microscope slide comprising:
- (i) a slide support having a support surface configured to support at least a portion of a back surface of the specimen-bearing microscope slide, the back surface being opposite a specimen-bearing surface, and (ii) at least one acoustic source at least partially in physical contact with a bottom surface of the slide support.
A slide tray for contactlessly mixing fluid on a specimen-bearing microscope slide comprising:
- (i) a plurality of slide supports each having a support surface configured to support at least a portion of a back surface of the specimen-bearing microscope slide, the back surface being opposite a specimen-bearing surface, and (ii) at least one acoustic source at least partially in contact with a bottom surface of each slide support of the plurality of slide supports, wherein the at least one acoustic source comprises a surface transducer.
A slide tray for contactlessly mixing fluid on a specimen-bearing microscope slide comprising:
- (i) a plurality of slide supports each having a support surface configured to support at least a portion of a back surface of the specimen-bearing microscope slide, the back surface being opposite a specimen-bearing surface, and (ii) at least one acoustic source at least partially in communication with a bottom surface of at least one slide support;
- wherein the at least one acoustic source operates at a frequency ranging from between about 1 Hz to about 1 kHz.
