Jammer detection system

A computer program product including one or more non-transitory machine-readable mediums encoded with instructions that when executed by one or more processors cause a process to be carried out for detection of signal jammers, the process comprising:

• estimating an angle of arrival of a jamming signal, the jamming signal included in a received signal, and generating a direction finding (DF) confidence indicator associated with the estimated angle of arrival;
• extracting the jamming signal from the received signal;
• correlating the extracted jamming signal with previously extracted jamming signals to generate a correlation score;
• identifying characteristics of the extracted jamming signal, and generating a characterization confidence indicator;
• and
• filtering the extracted jamming signal from a report of detected signal jammers based on one or more of the DF confidence indicator, the uniqueness assessment, and the characterization confidence indicator.

A method for detection of signal jammers, the method comprising:

• estimating, by a processor based system, an angle of arrival of a jamming signal, the jamming signal included in a received signal, and generating a direction finding (DF) confidence indicator associated with the estimated angle of arrival;
• extracting, by the processor based system, the jamming signal from the received signal;
• correlating, by the processor based system, the extracted jamming signal with previously extracted jamming signals to generate a correlation score;
• identifying, by the processor based system, characteristics of the extracted jamming signal, and generating a characterization confidence indicator;
• and
• filtering, by the processor based system, the extracted jamming signal from a report of detected signal jammers based on one or more of the DF confidence indicator, the uniqueness assessment, and the characterization confidence indicator.
