Abstract
A power Converter having power semiconductor components is disclosed herein, wherein a DC-link capacitor has a capacitance of less than 3 μF and is not designed as a separate electrical device of the power converter, and wherein the clock frequency is greater than 1 MHz. A vehicle, (e.g., an aircraft), including a power Converter of this kind is also described.
Claims15
A power converter comprising:
- power semiconductor devices;
- a first supply line;
- and
- a second supply line,
- wherein the first supply line and the second supply line are implemented before the power semiconductor devices in a widened and planar form to provide a plate capacitor,
- wherein the power semiconductor devices are configured to be connected to a battery or another direct current (DC) source via the first supply line and the second supply line,
- wherein the plate capacitor is configured to function as a DC-link capacitor such that the power converter does not comprise a standalone, separate DC-link capacitor,
- wherein the plate capacitor has a capacitance of less than 3 μF, and
- wherein a clock frequency for switching the power semiconductor devices is greater than 1 MHz.

A vehicle comprising:
- a power converter for an electric or hybrid electric drive,
- wherein the power converter comprises:
- power semiconductor devices;
- a first supply line;
- and
- a second supply line,
- wherein the first supply line and the second supply line are implemented before the power semiconductor devices in a widened and planar form to provide a plate capacitor,
- wherein the power semiconductor devices are configured to be connected to a battery or another direct current (DC) source via the first supply line and the second supply line,
- wherein the plate capacitor has a capacitance of less than 3 μF, and
- wherein a clock frequency for switching the power semiconductor devices is greater than 1 MHz.
