Abstract
A clamping member in a non-limiting aspect of the present disclosure may have a columnar shape extended from a first end to a second end. The clamping member may include an upper jaw, a lower jaw and a pocket. The upper jaw and the lower jaw may be located away from each other. The pocket may be located between the upper jaw and the lower jaw. The upper jaw may include a first member and a second member. The second member may be located closer to the first end than the first member. Hardness of the first member may be first hardness, and hardness of the second member may be second hardness. The first hardness may be different from the second hardness.
Claims17
A clamping member, having a columnar shape extended in a direction from a first end to a second end, the clamping member comprising:
- an upper jaw comprising:
- a first member having a first hardness,
- a second member having a second hardness different from the first hardness, being closer to the first end than the first member, and elongated in the direction,
- a third member having a third hardness different from the first hardness, being closer to the second end than the first member, and elongated in the direction;
- a lower jaw located away from the upper jaw;
- and
- a pocket:
- located between the upper jaw and the lower jaw, and
- configured to receive a cutting tool,
- wherein the first member, the second member, and the lower jaw are configured to fix the cutting tool in response to receiving the cutting tool, and
- on a condition that the cutting tool is fixed to the clamp member, the first member contacts the cutting tool in a contact area, the second member contacts the cutting tool in an area closer to the first end than the contact area, the third member contacts an upper surface in an area closer to the second end than the contact area, and the lower jaw contacts the cutting tool.
A holder for clamping an object, the holder comprising:
- a first clamping member elongated in a direction, and comprising:
- a first member having a first hardness, a first clamping surface, and a first step,
- a second member, the second member includes:
- a second hardness different from the first hardness,
- a second clamping surface that is on a line with the first clamping surface in the direction and a second step, and
- being in contact with the first clamping member, and
- a third member, the third member includes:
- a third hardness different from the first hardness, being closer to the second end than the first member, and elongated in the direction;
- and
- a second clamping member comprising a third clamping surface, opposed to the first clamping surface and the second clamping surface;
- and
- a pocket surrounded by the first clamping surface, a second clamping surface and the third clamping surface, and the pocket configured to receive a cutting tool,
- wherein the first step comprises:
- a first surface facing the first end,
- a second surface facing the first end, and
- a third surface between the first surface and the second surface,
- wherein the second step comprises:
- a fourth surface facing the second end and opposed to the first surface,
- a fifth surface facing the second end and opposed to the second surface, and
- a sixth surface between the first surface and the second surface, and in contact with the third surface, and
- on a condition that the cutting tool is fixed to the clamp member, the first member contacts the cutting tool in a contact area, the second member contacts the cutting tool in an area closer to the first end than the contact area, the third member contacts an upper surface in an area closer to the second end than the contact area.
