Fault detection and mitigation on an agricultural machine

A computer implemented method of controlling an agricultural machine, the computer implemented method comprising:

• generating a set of data logs logging operation characteristic values indicative of operation characteristics of the agricultural machine;
• comparing the operation characteristic values to a set of fault data records in a fault database to identify a matching fault data record, each fault data record including fault identifying information that identifies an occurrence of a fault in operation of the agricultural machine, the matching fault data record including a mitigation control step identifier;
• identifying a fault based on the fault identifying information of the matching fault data record;
• identifying a mitigation control step corresponding to the identified fault based on the mitigation control step identifier of the matching data record;
• and
• generating a control signal to control the agricultural machine to execute the identified mitigation control step corresponding to the identified fault.

An agricultural system, comprising:

• one or more processors;
• memory;
• computer executable instructions, stored in the memory and executable by the one or more processors, the computer executable instructions, when executed by the one or more processors, configuring the one or more processors to:
• receive a first set of fault information from a first agricultural machine and a second set of fault information from a second agricultural machine;
• generate a first fault data record identifying a first fault corresponding to the first set of fault information and generate a second fault data record identifying a second fault corresponding to the second set of fault information;
• generate a fault database that includes the first fault data record and the second fault data record;
• and
• send the fault database to the first agricultural machine and the second agricultural machine.
