Abstract
Antifoulant compositions and methods are used for inhibiting fouling on structural parts of a system exposed to a fluid hydrocarbon or petrochemical stream. Polyamine antifoulants are added to such systems. The polyamine antifoulants may be conjointly used with dispersants and/or fatty acids. The fatty acids have been found to reduce thermal degradation of the polyamine antifoulants.
Claims12
An antifoulant composition for inhibiting fouling on structural parts of a system exposed to a fluid hydrocarbon or petrochemical stream, said antifoulant composition comprising:
- (1) a polyamine and (2) a dispersant,
- wherein said polyamine comprises
- an alkylene polyamine, wherein the alkylene polyamine comprises a branched polyethylenimine or a polypropylenimine.
An antifoulant composition for inhibiting fouling on structural parts of a system exposed to a fluid hydrocarbon or petrochemical stream, said antifoulant composition comprising:
- (1) a polyamine and (2) a fatty acid,
- wherein said polyamine comprises
- an alkylene polyamine, wherein the alkylene polyamine comprises a branched polyethylenimine or a polypropylenimine.
An antifoulant composition for inhibiting fouling on structural parts of a system exposed to a fluid hydrocarbon or petrochemical stream, said antifoulant composition comprising a reaction product of i) a polyamine reactant and a ii) second reactant selected from a fatty acid, tall oil fatty acid, carboxylic acid or anhydride and an aldehyde, wherein said polyamine reactant is selected from a branched polyethylenimine;
- and a polypropylenimine.
