The present invention provides a mucoadhesive patch for attachment to a mucosal surface in a patient, the patch comprising a fibrous polymeric mat substrate and a plurality of polymeric flock particles that are attached to the substrate.

A mucoadhesive patch for attachment to a mucosal surface in a patient, the patch comprising a fibrous polymeric mat substrate and a plurality of polymeric flock particles that are attached to the substrate, the patch being reversibly attachable to the mucosal surface, wherein the fibers of the polymeric mat substrate comprising at least one of polycaprolactone (PCL), poly(lactic-co-glycolic acid (PLGA) and polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA), the flock particles comprising polyethylene glycol diacrylate (PEGDA).
